The requirement — Tourism research
The Lombardia Region of Italy commissioned Comperio Research to conduct an annual three year tracking study. The objective of the research was to assess awareness of Lombardia as a tourism destination and to identify general consumer trends when choosing holidays.
Lombardia requested that the study focus on the German, UK and US markets.
The solution
Comperio conducted more than 1000 online interviews every year across the three markets and investigated:

Perceptions of Lombardia (likes and dislikes)
Characteristics associated with Lombardia
International travel habits
Methods for choosing holidays
The year on year comparisons enabled Comperio to track trends and pinpoint significant changes in opinion.
Lombardia used the findings to inform marketing strategy, with a view to boosting the appeal of Lombardia as a holiday destination.
